A Faux Color Photography at Yading Nature Reserve of Daocheng 稻城亚丁
Tiffen #47B, a dark blue filter that lightens blue objects for detail, is a creative tool for capturing in camera faux color images with a full spectrum converted camera, beside originally intended for black and white photography. The filter allows the upper spectrum and infrared light to pass through.
To use the filter on a full spectrum converted camera, we need to do a custom white balance by pointing the camera to the blue sky (or blue sky with white clouds) and set the white balance. Then we are able to capture breathtaking images straight out of the camera without any processing at all.
During my recent holiday trip to Yading Nature Reserve of Daocheng, I tried out the Tiffen #47B dark blue filter with my full spectrum converted Olympus E-PL5 camera. The images had been processed with Lightroom.
